A Hunger-Free Community: The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia‘s Vision

December 2, 2021

In this episode of Let's Talk Portsmouth we deal with food insecurities and hunger. Although the terms hunger and food insecurities are often used interchangeably, our guest explains the difference. According to a Food Research & Action Center study in 2020, more than 38 million Americans lived in households that lacked access to affordable and nutritious food. In addition, one in seven households with children could not buy enough food for their families. Emma Inman, chief impact officer for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore, joins us for an informative discussion about hunger and food insecurities. You're going to want to share this interview with your family, friends, and neighbors.
